Resolved Question: chinchilla or hedgehog? (pet)?
im looking for a pretty low maintenance pet that doesn't cost much. and i dont have a lot of room. i've narrowed my choices down to a chinchilla, or a hedgehog. i have about 300 bucks to spend on the actual animal, housing, food, toys, ect. which one is the cheapest? and will any of these fit my price range? which makes a better pet? ive checked out chinchillas at a petstore and held one and stuff and i liked it but i havent done the same with a hedgehog yet. (they are pretty hard to find around here and yes they are legal in my state.) oh and if there is anything you want to share feel free.
Resolved Question: How is my holloween story?
Rodney and Jessica were in a costume shop, browsing the racks of witches' masks and zombie suits.
"Hey, here's a good one!" Jessica called, holding a grotesque mask in front of her face to show Rodney.
"Ew, gross, it looks like my grandma, but with more hair," Rodney said, making a face.
Jessica sighed and put the mask back.
"You just can't be happy, can you?" she asked.
"Hey, it's your mask. Go as whatever you want, don't let me decide," he responded. He was walking away from her now, looking left and right at the full-body costumes hanging from the shelves.
"Whatever," Jessica said, and walked the other way, towards the scary props section to check out some bloody plastic sickles.
Rodney walked down the hall slowly, looking like a ten-year-old faced with a candy buffet. He walked past the cloaks, robes, hoods, lions, other various animals, famous movie characters, and assorted random people, such as ninjas and pirates. A particularly gruesome thing caught his eye in the corner, an ugly green troll. Upon closer inspection, however, he found that the suit was very low-quality. He wouldn't be scaring anybody wearing that thing. He poked the troll's big ugly nose, and the whole thing fell over. It had been sitting on a box, he saw, and something was poking out of it. Curious, he opened the box and pulled out the contents.
It was some kind of death suit, as far as he could tell. The main body was a black cloak, and a black hood was pulled up over a hideous skull. The skull was deformed and misshapen, but that somehow added to the frightening effect. He reached his hand out to touch it, and found it rubbery and cold. Tentatively, he put it on, hiding his face behind the mask and under the hood, slipping his arms into skeleton-gloves that looked real. He picked up a metallic scythe, also in the box, and held it in what he thought was a menacing position. He peered into a mirror at the end of the aisle and jumped a little at his reflection. He honestly looked like the messenger of death, eyes black pieces of burnt coal, nose just two slits in his skinless face. He took the costume off and searched for his sister. He found her back in the masks section, looking again at witches.
"Hey. Ready to go?" he asked, startling her a little. She almost dropped the hag's mask she had been about to put on.
"Just a sec," she said, and slipped on the mask. Rodney looked at her carefully, studying. It was a pretty good mask; fairly realistic, creepily scary, and it would go great with the small crooked sickle she had also picked out.
"Looks great, now let's go," he said.
"Really?" she asked, taking the mask off. "Great. Thanks."
They carried their items to the checkout line, where they waited behind a stout old man who was buying candy, supposedly for trick-or-treaters but most likely for himself. When the large man had finished, Jessica placed her scythe and mask on the counter. The clerk ran her scanner over the bar codes of each, and the total came up to almost twenty dollars.
"A bit expensive, isn't it?" Jessica asked, handing the clerk the money.
"The best," the clerk replied. "Worth every penny."
"Would you still say that if you didn't work here?" Jessica asked, smiling as she took her small bag of stuff.
The clerk smiled back a little, and gestured to Rodney.
Rodney placed the costume and scythe on the counter and watched as the clerk searched them for price tags. Unable to find any, he called on the intercom:
"Price check for..." He looked at the face and scythe. "Grim Reaper costume and scythe accessory, please."
A few seconds later, a reply came. "Grim Reaper plus scythe? $19.95."
"Okay, thank you," the clerk said, and rang up the total. Rodney paid, but couldn't help feeling that he was being charged for the wrong item. He had seen a Grim Reaper costume earlier, and it had looked a lot cheesier and probably cost a lot less. The scythe, too. You could barely tell this one was plastic.
"Thank you," Rodney said, and he and Jessica walked out into the parking lot.
"Are you ready yet?" Jessica called up the stairs impatiently.
"Just a minute!" Rodney called back, his voice slightly muffled by the death mask he wore. He studied himself in the mirror. He looked scary, all right. Very scary.
He walked downstairs, showing Jessica his costume for the first time. She made a face, much like the one he had given her when she had shown him the witch's mask that looked like his grandma.
"Ew, it's disgusting," she said, looking sick. Then she laughed. "It's great! It looks real, too. I bet you'll win the costume contest, if there is one."
"You think?" he asked, voice still muffled a little. She would never tell him this, but she felt better when he spoke. She felt better knowing that under the horrible costume, it was still her brother.
"Definitely," she responded confidently. "Now let's go or we'll be late," she said, and they got into the car and drove away.
There was no costume contest at the party
Resolved Question: Necessary Stuff to Buy When You Get a puppy!?
Okay heres the deal, I'm gunna rescue a toy puppy from this animal shelter soon. Since I'm 12 and working for the money to buy the dog and all the supplies myself, I would like to narrow down to only the necessary supplies i need, then add to the list later. I made a list of everything I am currently thinking of buying. Can u tell me the things in my list i don't need, or tell me if i need to add anything? Thx
Resolved Question: I know this is long but could someone please help me choose what to choose for a reward?
Okay so I really struggle at school. I don't have a learning difficulty but I struggle in maths (I just don't get it), science and Japanese class. I'm also struggling fitting in in my year level (I fit in well in the year below me) and I have no friends (the few I do are in totally different classes which does not help). Many days I have come home in tears or very close to it. About a term ago (See in Australia our school year goes from late January to mid December not September to June or whatever it is in the USA, UK and Canada). I began to beg and beg my mother to let me leave and go to a different school. Mum told me that for each extra term I spend there I get a reward. Well I've spent that extra term there and my grades have gone up and I haven't complained or gotten upset ONCE. So as the agreement goes I get my reward. It's very sad my Mum bribes me to go to such a crappy school but ah well. I have SO many ideas it isn't even funny and I'd like some opinions as to what you guys think I should do.
1. Performing arts after school classes. I've looked into a few different ones that do the acting, modeling, singing, dancing etc and get you onto film and TV. Unfortunately in Australia you can't do much in the way of epic blockbusters but it's a start and would build on my drama skills and be a great way to meet new people and improve my low self esteem.
2. Starting a second instrument. I already play the flute and love it so that's why I'd love to play another instrument as well. My ideas are cello, harp or piccolo which is a smaller and more high pitched version of flute. The only problem with harp is that they're expensive and it'd be difficult to find a harp teacher and piccolo is so similar to the flute (same fingering and everything) that it may be a little boring. Help here would be great.
3. Horse riding lessons. I hear this tones the legs and butt (supposedly riders help me out here). I've always had a soft spot for horses but my mother couldn't afford lessons then because both me and my older brother were in the scouts, both me and my Mum took ballet classes, I did flute and me and my brother were in private schooling. How my Mum afforded it all I'll never know. So now that I'm no longer doing ballet or scouts I have the time and I'd love to learn. I just love horses they're amazing animals. I have even done some research like I have with the drama thing and found a riding stable close to me.
4. Literary agent. I'm not sure how to get one but these people are like acting and modeling agents but for writing they help you get writing published in magazines and help you publish your work into published books. I've wanted to be an author since I was six so this would be good. I know I can write an alright story and I have the right imagination for a good fiction book. If possible could anyone give me some info on literary agents and how to get them, costs etc?
5. Change my name. I've been teased about my name by some people since I was little. My full name is Tiffany Alice. I don't have any problem with Alice, it's feminine, pretty and classy. But I get called Fanny (as in vagina) by kids at school and in other places. I would also get called Stiffy Tiffy which is talking about an erection. After a while getting called things like that makes you hate your name. So I'd like to get it changed.
7. This cool new bed. They're called storage beds (I think). Basically they're like bunk beds but much lower and in the underneath bit are in built desks, little bookcases stuff etc. And most have a really nice wood finish. I've wanted one for ages. Sort of like this: http://www.kidzbedz.com.au/morebeds_14.html
8. An after school language class. I can't decide between French, Spanish, German and Tagalog (though Tagalog is probably out. Don't know where I'm going to find a place that teaches Tagalog) If I do this what language do you recommend?
9. A rowing machine and one free one month trial of Acai berry to help me lose some extra kilos (or pounds if you're in that metric system) and tone up.
10. A pet cockatiel. I've wanted one since I was nine and they're just gorgeous.
11. A pet ferret. I've wanted one since I was 13.
12. Some sort of beauty treatment to get my very rosy cheeks paled in some way (If that's possible) I hate my rosy cheeks they make me look like a little bloody beetroot :(
So could anyone help me decide or at least give me some opinions etc. With the extra-curricular activities I'd basically be saying can you pay the fees until next term when I get my youth payments (if your parents earn under a certain amount per year I think it's it's 13,000 per year you get youth payments. After my 16th birthday I'll start to get the payments and I'll start paying the fees myself it'll help me get started. Same goes with the pets if that's what I decide.
So any help please? :D
