Resolved Question: Where did the Empires go?
Alright so I have been reading about World War I and World War II a lot recently and I can't help but look at World War II and wonder why the United States of America was the only country to profit or come out the war better, I also can't help but notice that after the World Wars were fought Monarchy was basically abolished from the planet and replaced with experimental governments like capitalism and communism. These types of governments were thought up of by people and are in no way natural and extremely prone to corruption as we have seen in the past and present.
Now look, I'm not some crazy guy hatin on the US just because they are strong. I'm a proud Canadian, so I live in a country with this kind of an experimental government, and I have seen in my own life corruption in this country. Most recently if you look at what is happening here in British Columbia (a province of Canada for those who don't know) our premier has become corrupt and is doing everything he promised he wouldn't like bringing in the HST (a fusion of the GST, Government Sales Tax, and PST, Provincial Sales Tax) which is a burden in almost every way. He gave himself and his collegues raises in the middle of a depression, destroyed the chances of the MLS coming to BC (Major League Soccer, which could of created a lot of jobs and tourism, not just entertainment.) He cut school funding so many schools are in debt hundreds of thousands of dollars, so I see how our new types of governments can be slowly corrupted, although communism is a much easier type to corrupt.
Anyways I said that to show that these governments aren't perfect for those of you who think they are. Now back to the question.
Before the World Wars, nearly the entire planet was controlled by Emperors and Kings, fighting out disputes and surviving the test of time, but after the World Wars, most of the world were controlled by new types of governments or ruled by a dying leftover empire which were few in numbers. This can not be a coincidence, I mean, how the hell can Imperialism and Dictatorships, kings queens, emperors all be eliminated off the face of the Earth at so close to the same time. The Romans and countless Empires and Kingdoms have died in the past, but never so many so fast so close together.
If you don't believe me here's a list for you I hope you will be able to understand...since I'm not that good at organizing lol.
World War 1 - 28 July 1914 – 11 November 1918
World War 2 - September 1, 1939 – September 2, 1945
Empires of the World:
Korean Empire - 1897–1910
Japanese Empire - 1868–1945
German Empire - 1871–1918
Russian Empire - 1721–1917
British Empire - 1583 - 1945/1997
Empire of China - 1915-1916
Qing Dynasty - 1644-1912
That isn't all of them but they all have one similarity, they all fell within 35 years of each other, all in the early 20th century. There were many other empires in the world, but they have always died off slowly, then once the world wars hit all of a sudden it was like a massacre of anti-empires.
Now if you ask me I say a monarchy beats capitilism, communism and all those other human thought up governments any day. Monarchy is natural believe it or not, lions, tigers, monkeys, and all kinds of animals, even insects like bees and ants have a monarchy style of living. People lived like this naturally for millenia and yet the government of human history was wiped out in less then half a century. For those who think democracy and all our new governmental ways are natural think about it for a sec, how often do you see a cat and a dog taking a vote as to whether to live together in peace or harmony. How often do you see a bear going to his local tree placing stocks and stuff, gambling away his berries. How often do you see bees voting for a political party to rule the hive? Never, a queen bee rules, a lion has been called the king of the jungle for as long as we remember, and a cat and a dog have no clue as to what a vote is, but they do understand a master and an enemy. They follow their rulers, not a multitude of rulers.
Here's another thought. Why couldn't the world today be ran by kings, queens and emperors? Our world is a different place today but it could work. You might have the bad king every now and then that get's corrupt, but that's the ONLY problem with a monarchy. If the king is good hearted there are NO problems at all. If the king is corrupt then you get problems. In our governments today there are so many problems even with a good hearted prime minister or president. There could be people pulling the strings behind the scene who have the real power, there's the mafia, and a whole string of organized crime which are the fruits of the changes we made. A monarchy can work, and we will get corruption, we always will, but at least a monarchy is better than the other governments.
Now a days wars are frowned upon, and instead the world has economic wars. It isn't about who
Here's an incredible empire that was destroyed in the same timeframe that stood out to me more than any other.
Ottoman Empire - 1299–1923
Resolved Question: Why do mostly Asian countries eat odd stuff?
From Japan to China, countries in Asian eat weird things.for example,in Thailand they raise rats for food consumption and Vietnam also do the same.Cambodia is another Asian country that eat certain kind of animals and creatures that are not fit to eat.Japan and China also eat alot of disgusting things.I've always enjoyed mostly Chinese and Japanese food, sometimes Korean too,but I've never been interested in the rest of the Asian countries cuisine due to all this I just mentioned, and I think I will quit eating Chinese and Japanese soon
Resolved Question: How long does it take to receive an item from "Club Nintendo"?
I'm wondering because I ordered an Animal Crossing Mouse mat in February and still don't have it.
I'm in Ireland so I'd say the delivery time would equal the British delivery time.
I would also like to know where it's coming from. NoE is in Germany but this stuff could be coming from Japan or China. Just wondering ^_^ Thank you.
IF YOU ARE NOT EUROPEAN DON'T ANSWER!
Sorry...
The UK and Ireland Club as far as I can see has no Delivery Times listed. I have checked every support page as far as I know and searched for "catalouge" and "delivery" to no avail.
Resolved Question: is he starting to really like me?
Well my boyfriend and i are both 18 and it's our first relationship so we're new at this. we've been best friends since like September and we met last May. He's really shy, but so sweet - he doesn't have any enemies..... Anyways -
Signs I’m sure:
-Stares at me a lot and smiles when I’m near him
-Sits towards me (chest facing in and leaning in toward me)
-He gets nervous a fair amount
-One time I commented on his college T-Shirt saying that I liked it and now he wears it a lot… lol
-He copies my moves, like if I go to look towards a place, he’ll look there. If I pick up my cup of water, he’ll pick up his too.
-He’d walk me to classes when I was in school and always sit by me
-His friends would punch him when he was near – because he was staring at me; I heard them whisper a few times “stop staring at her…”
-His friends randomly start IMing me. I know some of them, but I’m not as good of friends as I am with them and they never IMed me before my boyfriend and I became in a relationship.
-Whenever we’re sitting next to each other we sit pretty close to each other – basically touching one another’s side
-Whenever we’re walking next to each other he walks really close to me. sometimes I want to hold his hand but my butterflies hit me – I will on our next date though lol
-Sometimes when I’m doing something, he’ll like get right up behind me and watch what I’m doing and then if I look behind we’ll both lock eyes for a few seconds until one of us looks away
-He always answers my calls. If he doesn’t, he always calls back.
-Whenever my mom or someone asks to see something of his (like his photography since he’s like amazing at it), he’ll bring it in the next day
-He always remembers to do stuff when he says he will even though he has a bad memory (ie like when he told me he’d get the address for his vacation house he was staying at, I thought he’d forget but he actually remembered)
-He likes my parents a lot and doesn’t mind what they say (even when my mom starts kind of grilling him and I tell her to stop but he doesn’t mind lol)
-He always likes to help me with anything. Yesterday actually we were putting luggage in the car because we were leaving from our vacation (he had just gotten there) and he offered to help. I thought it was so sweet.
-He’s becoming more interested in my interest (ie photography – we both like it, horses since I love and own one, animals, technology – basically all the things I love to do; he likes to do them too…)
-He never really stops a conversation and he always starts one. He’s shy but we always have something to say to one another.
-I met his dad and his dad loves me and I love his dad. Whenever I see his dad his dad always says hi to me and we talk for a little while.
-I haven’t met his mom, but that’s because he hates her. Something happened between his mom and his dad (they’re divorced) and he lives with his dad and never sees nor talks to his mom.
-I’ve also met two of his grandparents at prom because he had to pick up my corsage at their house. They were so nice and then at graduation I ran into his grandfather and he remembered who I was (ie by his grandson’s date haha)
-When we became in a relationship, all of his friends commented on our changed relationship status and liked it.
-He talks about his friends a lot and I think he wants me to meet them when they come to town (one of his best friends lives in china and one is in college in another state)
Signs I’m not sure about:
-He doesn’t answer my texts although I think he just doesn’t like to text
-Sometimes we don’t talk for a few days if I don’t call him. One time we didn’t talk for two weeks straight, but now we’ve been talking more since then
-He’s never tried to make a move besides asking me out again, standing closely and touching sometimes (like my arm), and slow dancing at prom (he asked me to prom btw)
-He kept saying he was busy whenever we tried to work out a day to get together although he really was busy – hopefully this month he’ll be less busy
So is he starting to really like me or what's happening?
